Billie Piper is to marry boyfriend Laurence Fox at the end of this month.
The couple have booked a small venue in the Cotswolds and this week informed a close circle of friends and family to keep the last weekend in July free.
Billie, 24, who played Dr Who's assistant Rose Tyler in the BBC1 series, and 28-year-old actor Laurence only began dating at the beginning of the year.
But their romance quickly blossomed into a full-blown love affair, and they bought a country cottage together in Sussex in May.
Their announcement comes just days after Billie's ex-husband Chris Evans confirmed he is getting hitched again.
A family source confirmed: "Billie and Laurence have called to let a few people know about the wedding.
"It's a small affair. They don't want a glitzy showbiz event - just a lovely day for everyone.
"Billie is excited and just so happy she has met Laurence.
"She is completely in love and the happiest I've known her for a long time.
"Her divorce from Chris was made official recently and that has paved the way for a new marriage.
"Billie is pleased that Chris and her have both moved on and found new partners.
"It means they can both embark on new chapters in their lives."
Actress Billie and Laurence - son of actor James Fox - met during rehearsals for the stage play Treats, which they both starred in earlier this year.
They were pictured together in December but denied they were seeing each other at the time.
Billie was still with boyfriend of two years, law student Amadu Sowe. And Laurence was living with his girlfriend, actress Martha Swann - who he shared a flat with for two years.
Then at the start of the year, after splitting with their partners, they confirmed they were an item.
And in early June it was announced by her ex-husband Chris Evans that the couple had bought a cottage together.
