So throughout March i've been watching Season2 with Tennant, and the more I've watched, having just literally seen the last 2 amazing episode of 2006, the more i realise.. The more i realise i think i just can't get over Rose Tyler! Billie and David had such a great chemistry and Billie made Rose such an endearing character, i can't live without Rose on Dr Who! Anyone got one of those inter-dimension timehopping neclaces? in the "Doomsday" episode? ;D

yeah me
I just got so upset when she left. Poor Billie she must hated the bit ion the beach. When Billie read the lines what she needed to say, she was so upset. That is why she needed to ring to David. So yes

As a huge Rose fan I was a little worried that I would miss her, but I don't know I mean I'll miss Rose but Martha is completely different. Like Freema said in an interview, 'Rose was more in awe with the Doctor, where as Martha is more on a level' and I couldn't agree more.
As much as I'll miss her, I think we should let it be and let the Doctor move on.

I completely agree. Each actor/actress brings something new to the show - whilst Chris and Billie helped introduce the show to the new audience, both David and Freema now have the privilage of becoming more...limitless? I don't know, it's hard to explain...! Now that the show has been so readily accepted into a new national treasure, it's pretty much assumed that everything they do from now on will be loved as long as they follow the same format. To keep audiences guessing, fresh characters and actors are needed, so in that sense I think Freema will be a fantastic addition to the show. The show has moved on a lot from its introductory stages in series 1 where everything was new to the audience. Now, as it becomes a lot more second nature to children, they'll be wanting to know more about the deeper nature of the show, which involves seeing the Doctor and his companion in different situations etc. So for Martha to be a lot more on the Doctor's level will only interest audiences, although for those still reeling from Rose's 'death' Rose can't be forgotten completely - I think it's a looovely touch to keep refering back to her, as it gives the show a level of consistency.
That was probably the most random, pointless and longest reply I've ever posted. I sort of lost track of my point towards the end...it's there somewhere. Somewhere being the operative word...

I wouldn't say that Martha is better than Rose. She's different, and its nice to know that she's not replacing her. Poor Doctor he's still missing her

winterspell - TONGUE AVATAR *faints*
I find it impossible to compare Rose and Martha - they both bring something different to the roles and are completely different characters.

Martha is more mature than Rose, unlike Rose she can put the Doctor in his place, which he hates. Rose is a loving girl and I think that's what made her vunerable, where as Martha is compleetly different, she's more in tune with everything around her. Where as Rose was more in awe.
